Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dentistry is a highly specialized form of oral health care, and at Legacy Dental, we offer the most complete array of restorative procedures in the area. Depending on your specific needs and situation, we can help to repair damaged teeth or fill a missing tooth. Restorative dentistry can include dental implants, bridges, crowns and veneers, or even provide cosmetic options like whitening or porcelain veneers.

A common material used in fillings to repair cavities in teeth; also known as “silver fillings.” Dental amalgam is a mixture of silver, mercury and other materials.

With a CEREC® Same Day Crown you can be in and out in a single visit.  A traditional dental crown procedure requires two appointments and a few weeks of waiting. With a CEREC® Same Day Crown we design, fabricate and place your permanent crown in just one day.

A dental bridge replaces missing teeth by using artificial teeth to “bridge” the gap between teeth. If a tooth is not replaced, the surrounding teeth can drift into the empty space. Also, if teeth are not replaced the surrounding teeth are more prone to decay, gum disease and additional tooth loss.

Dental implants are another way to restore your smile when you are missing one or more teeth. Dental implants are used to support individual crowns, dental bridges and dentures and allow you to eat, smile and talk comfortably and confidently.

Dentures restore your smile by replacing missing teeth that have been lost to gum disease, tooth decay or an injury. Complete dentures replace all teeth and removable partial dentures replace some teeth. If your facial muscles are sagging due to tooth loss dentures improve your smile as well as fill out your face and profile.

A filling restores teeth that have been damaged by trauma or decay back to normal function and shape. The decayed area is removed and the dental filling closes the space where bacteria can enter which prevents further decay and can help you avoid losing the tooth.

A root canal treatment, or root canal therapy, is used to repair a badly damaged or infected tooth. Root canals remove the infection, stopping the spread of the damage or decay. Root canals can also ease pain from the damaged or infected tooth.
